Frank G. Stewart cleverly escaped his near twelve-year battle with Lewy Body Dementia by leaving it behind at his death on December 26, 2017. Along the way, his neurologist Lester Collins and PCP Nghia Truong offered their best treatment, while the nurses at Home Care Network including Cody, Jennifer, Heather, and for the last two and a half years, Diane, offered unmatched care. He is survived by his daughter Cellissa Martin and her two children Brianna and Kevin, his son Dr. Gregory Stewart who left his career as a university professor to care for Frank over the past six and a half years, and his wife of forty-nine years, Kaye, the great love of his life and his daily reason for battling his disease. Though he lost access to many things, he never lost her.

Born in New York, Frank moved to Tyler in infancy and attended St. Gregory Elementary before moving around Texas and graduating from Tyler High School. A manager at several Mexican restaurants in Tyler, Frank opened his own restaurants: in 1992 Paco's in Lindale and in 1996 Paco's Too in Tyler. He took pride as his restaurants participated in numerous civic and charitable events including PATH's annual night out and Frank offered special welcome to the men and women of law enforcement; he also volunteered as a translator at Bethesda Clinic. He closed his restaurants in 2006 after a lengthy battle to recover from the trauma of a 2004 hit and run accident that brought about the early-onset of dementia.

Frank will be missed daily by his family and friends who loved him. In lieu of flowers, his son requests that you put aside any fear or unease you may have about someone you know who is sick, and that you spend time with them.
