George was really a great guy, an outstanding athlete and a genuine friend to everyone. Seeing this wonderful kid waste away and die at the age of sixteen was heartbreaking for his family and shocking for his fellow students. George and I were biology class partners briefly in 9th grade Boulter. He was beloved by all his classmates and mature beyond his age. Everyone looked up to him. He was fair in all his dealings, wise and intelligent.I remember him at high school football games as the whole stadium was aware that he was there in the ambulance. It meant everything to have George with us at the game. He couldn't have seen much of the game because there was always a crowd around him at the ambulance near the goal post. Remember his high spirit and confidence; he was not afraid of what he faced bravely.
