Memorial service for Thomas L. Blankenship, 66, of Tyler, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the chapel of Burks Walker Tippit Funeral Home with the Rev. Fred Smith and Dr. John Beard officiating.
Mr. Blankenship passed away Jan. 23, 2011, in Tyler. He was born Jan. 7, 1945, in Erwin, Tenn., to the late Ralph and Hattie Pate Blankenship. Thomas lived in Tyler the past 61 years and served his country while in the United States Air Force. He was preceded in death by a brother, Harley Blankenship; and two brothers-in-law, Jimmy Clancy and Hugh Kenner.
Mr. Blankenship's survivors include his son, Troy Blankenship; a brother, James Blankenship of Tyler; a sister, Linda Kenner of Tyler; two grandchildren, Trey and Dekota Blankenship; and numerous nieces, nephews and other loving relatives.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of East Texas, 4111 University Blvd., Tyler, 75701.
